Our Artists

A lifelong resident of the Nassau County area, Ginger grew up along McGirt’s Creek and enjoyed lots of outdoor sports, especially all types of water activities. She went to college, married, had a career in banking and raised a son. After retirement, she decided to try something different to add to her many hobbies, such as gardening, sewing and quilting. She never thought about painting but decided to give it a go. After a couple of classes, she was hooked. Ginger likes painting in acrylic and oils. Her favorite subjects are local scenery, marshes, water, islands and birds. She is mostly self-taught but has taken classes from other local artists.
Ginger’s inspiration is the natural landscapes and waterscapes in and around Amelia Island. Her challenge is to capture that beauty in her paintings. She has entered and won many ribbons in the juried show hosted by the West Nassau Historical Society Show and Sale. Ginger hopes viewers can project themselves into her paintings and feel the joy and awe she felt when she was painting the scene. Her art can be viewed downtown at the Island Art Association, and the Plantation Artists’ Guild & Gallery at the Omni shops.
