Betsy Harris
Betsy Harris is an artist and naturalist who grew up along the waterways and woods of NE Florida. She is endlessly inspired by the native flora and natural communities that provide Florida with its unique ecological character. Through her plaster relief work, she aims to permanently capture the beauty, form, and texture of ephemeral beings and places. Her reliefs are cast from handmade molds crafted from fresh plant cuttings that she has grown or ethically foraged. Each mold can only be used once, making every piece a single edition. When she is not in her studio, she can usually be found slow rolling country roads admiring wildflowers or exploring the intersections of the environment and humanities through papermaking, printing, weaving, and wildcrafting with plants.
