“The Island Art Association
Photographers Group formed in 2006 when then IAA President Roger
Moore and local photographer Bill Raser, recognized the extent
of interest in photography on Amelia Island and the need for a
special interest group. There are currently 33 active
members. It is a diverse group of both amateurs and
professionals. The group meets monthly on the fourth
Thursday at 7 p.m., normally in the IAA studio at 18 N. Second
St., Fernandina Beach, FL.
The meetings consist of
demonstrations and technical presentations and a monthly themed
critique (show and tell) of members’ photography. The
group has been featured in exhibits at First Coast Community
Bank, the Island Art Association Co-op Gallery Featured Art
Displays, and the Florida State College North Campus Art
Gallery.
Photographers are encouraged to become
members in the Island Art Association so they may participate in
IAA-sponsored exhibits and to receive newsletters and other
membership benefits. Otherwise, they may simply attend
meetings and furnish their e-mail address to receive Photo group
information concerning meetings, exhibits, special photo shoots,
etc. Contact the IAA at 904 261-7020, or email to
mailbox@islandart.org”
