As a young girl I loved to draw, paint and create. In high school I took drawing and oil painting and experimented with pastels. College, majoring in business, marriage and raising a family put any interests in art on the back burner. On retirement in 1987 we moved to Amelia Island from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. I found myself right in the middle of an art community. Artist friends encouraged me to pick up the pencil and draw -- the paint brush and paint. I tried my hand at watercolor and soon became addicted. I have taken instruction from watercolorists who hold state and national awards. I enjoy working with strong colors, dark to light. I enjoy painting a variety of subjects, whatever catches my eye and become very excited about a new idea, a new concept, a new painting .
