Denise Murphy Fused Glass and Mosaic Art Denise earned her business degree from Bryant University. Born in Rhode Island, she spent her adult life in Massachusetts before moving to Amelia Island in 2008. Denise started her career in the arts as a fiber artist, primarily in weaving and fabric design. She has branched out to include mosaic art, often depicting nature at its finest. After taking a few classes in glass, she knew she was hooked on this medium. She studied with masters in the field of fused/kiln formed glass to gain the necessary technical skills for successful fusing. She has taken that technical training and has combined it with science and her innate design skills to become an accomplished award winning glass artist. As an homage to her fiber arts roots, you will often find "woven glass" incorporated into her fused glass designs. She continues to push the envelope and draw on nature for inspiration for many of her designs as noted in "tree bowl," "sea fan" and "geode" vessels. Denise has exhibited her work in studios and shows in New England. You may now find her work at Island Art Gallery and SanJon Gallery on Amelia Island.
